Dark Sky Astronomy Weekend – SOLD OUT

Bring your curiosity about the cosmos to Manning Park Resort’s third annual Astronomy Weekend! This educational weekend features workshops, speakers, and stargazing in the pristine alpine environment of Manning Park. This family-friendly weekend is for beginner stargazers, with a special focus on the moon due to its expected phase and location in the sky. Join us for a unique weekend of programming with our star experts from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) Vancouver Chapter who will guide you on a tour of the night skies high up in the alpine!

We have 2 ticket package types available for purchase:

Lightning Lake Stargazer

This package gets you a Stargazer Package and wristband for free access to all workshops and events (with exception of Cascade Stargazer Package), plus special access to evening Dark Sky viewing at Lightning Lake. Transportation to Lightning Lake is not included.

Family: $159 (2 adults & 2 kids aged 12 and under)
Adult (13+): $50
Child (12 and under):  $30

Cascade Stargazer

This package gets you a Stargazer Package and wristband for free access to all workshops and events, plus special access to evening Dark Sky viewing at Cascade Lookout and includes transportation to and from the lookout via shuttle bus.

*Personal vehicles are not permitted to be driven up to the lookout

Family: $179 (2 adults & 2 kids aged 12 and under)
Adult (13+): $70
Child (12 and under):  $50

COVID-19 Safety Precautions:

This event operates under the guidelines of the Provincial Health Officer, and in order to keep all our guests, attendees, staff, and community safe, the following applies:

• This is a ticketed event, with all indoor and outdoor events having capped participation, and a wristband required to attend (included in your package).
• In line with the Provincial Health Order effective September 13th for gatherings and events, you are required to have received at least 1 vaccination 14 days prior to the date of the event, and we will require proof in order for you to access the event, either via your digital or physical BC Vaccine Card
• All guests are required to adhere to all Manning Park Resort safety guidelines while attending
